marco.valadez@dukekunshan.edu.cn

Marco gained an appreciation for higher education and a passion for working with students as an undergraduate student at Texas A&M University. After graduating with his BA he worked for a few years at institutions across Austin before eventually pursuing a Master’s of Science in Education at Baylor University, which he graduated with in 2009. After this he returned to his alma mater and worked with a couple of different departments in the College of Liberal Arts where he both advised students directly and helped the faculty design several new degree options which helped to grow each of their associated programs significantly. Excited by both the prospects of being at a liberal arts focused university and at a startup university he joined DKU in 2021. Since then has since enjoyed connecting with students and faculty from all over the world as well as exploring the community in Shanghai and the surrounding areas whenever he can.
