I’m Phuong Nguyen, but you can call me Ember, from the Class of 2028. I intend to major in Behavioral Science, though my track is still undecided. One of the fields I'm passionate about is language teaching. I’ve studied it and worked as a language tutor, so I’d be excited to share my experiences with you and hear about your own language learning journeys. One fun fact about me? In the first semester at DKU, I tried out several sports: table tennis, badminton, squash, and basketball. At DKU, opportunities are open to everyone. Hi everyone! I’m Yijie Han, you can also call me Rita. I’m a senior majoring in Molecular Bioscience with the track in Cell and Molecular Biology. My research interests lie in cancer biology and environmental health.

Outside the lab, I love photography, traveling, scuba diving, and trying new outdoor activities. I’m from Nanjing, so if you're looking for travel recommendations or local food suggestions, I’d be happy to share a few favorites!

This is my third year serving as a peer mentor, and it’s been one of the most rewarding parts of my college experience. Hi everyone! I’m Bowie, a senior majoring in Data Science from Beijing.

I’m fascinated by the intersection of technology and business, and I hope to build tech products in the future. Over the past few years, I’ve explored quite a few different paths—from data analytics at JD Retail, to product management in JD Logistics’ robotics business, to quantitative finance during my exchange at Duke, and even reinforcement learning for my Signature Work.

Outside of academics, I’m a high-energy ESFJ who loves staying active. You’ll probably find me talking about basketball (Go Warriors!), soccer (Go 国安!), music (JJ Lin, Wang Leehom, and K-pop are always on my playlist), traveling, or hunting for good food. I also really enjoy cooking, and right now I’m counting down the days until GTA VI finally comes out. I love meeting people from different cultures too—Outside of Chinese and English, I’ve also been learning French (definitely take Professor Germain’s French class at Duke if you get the chance!) and Spanish.

One thing you’ll quickly learn about me is that I genuinely enjoy helping others (very ESFJ of me!). I’ve been a Multivariable Calculus TA, and now I’m excited to be a Peer Mentor.

Hi everyone! I'm Zi An,and you can also call me Catherine. I'm from the Class of 2029 and plan to major in Data Science. I'm especially interested in applying data science and AI to healthcare, and I'm always excited to explore interdisciplinary fields that combine technology with real-world health challenges.

Outside of academics, you'll probably find me on the tennis court or in the orchestra, where I play the flute and piccolo. I'm also involved in Glorys, a student organization that promotes global health through talks and campus events. I really enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds and creating activities that bring our community together.

I'm an ESTJ, so I love staying organized, planning ahead, and helping people solve problems. Whether it's choosing courses, finding research opportunities, getting involved in campus life, or simply adjusting to life at DKU, I'd be more than happy to share my experiences and support you along the way.

Hi, everyone! I am Shuyuan Yang, a sophomore student from Class of 2029. I’m from Suzhou, which is very near, so don’t hesitate to ask me where to hang out on weekends!

I’m planning to major in Behavioral Science with the track of Economics, and I really welcome you to communicate with me if you are also interested in related topics. Apart from being a peer mentor, I am also a member of Mood Psychology Club. As the new academic year approaches, I’m looking forward to taking part in more school activities. I will be sooooo happy if you want to explore with me!

Apart from my academic interests, you might find me an artistic person very fond of music, art, and literature. I especially enjoy singing and love music from Taiwan and Hong Kong most. Though I am not very sporty, I am always looking for someone to play badminton with me.

Hi DKUers! I am Junice Lin, a senior student from Class of 2027. My major is computation and design with the track in digital media. My research interests lie in human computer interaction (HCI). I’m passionate about designing interactive experiences that make technology feel a little more human. Most of my research revolves around AI and augmented creativity.

Outside of the classroom, I'm a big sports enthusiast. I've been an active member of the Street Dance Club since my freshman year—you might even come across some of my dance videos on social media! I was also a member of Table Tennis Varsity and Frisbee Varsity previously. In my free time, I enjoy playing badminton, volleyball, and tennis, and I make it a habit to hit the gym about four times a week.

Beyond sports, I have a passion for visual arts, especially painting and photography. Music is also a huge part of my life—I’m almost always listening to something. My playlists range from hip-hop, R&B, and pop to K-pop and classic Chinese songs, depending on my mood. (I like Hip-hop and R&B the best and I dance to them lol)
